Jamie Neal, President of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, is the recipient of the Indiana Chamber Executive Association 2021 Chamber Executive Of The Year.
“Of the four finalists for 2021 Executive of the Year, the vote was unanimous to present the award to Jamie Neal. She is an exceptional Chamber leader who is willing to mentor, lead and share resources with her peers. She's a problem solver that brings a high level of energy to both her community and the statewide network” said Shelli Williams, ICEA President.
Since taking on the role of President of the Chamber, Neal has overseen the rebranding of the organization, increased member benefits, and strengthened relationships with community partners. Since her start in 2017, the Chamber has seen an increase in membership by 33%, and have maintained a 90% member retention rate over the last two years. Under her guidance, the Knox County Chamber Foundation was formed to bolster local programs and nonprofit organizations through grant funding opportunities.
Neal was nominated for this award by the staff members from the Knox County Chamber with support from the Board of Directors and multiple local leaders. The ICEA Indiana Chamber Executive of the Year award is given annually by ICEA to recognize excellence in professional leadership. The recipient is chosen by a panel of both past and present Chamber professionals outside of the state of Indiana.
“At the direction of Jamie, we have significantly upgraded our policies, procedures, technology, partnerships, and most importantly our member benefits & resources.” said Chamber Board Chair, Spencer Burkhart.
The Knox County Chamber team was also recognized as the 2021 Indiana Chamber of the Year. Williams mentions that “In the nearly 20 years we have recognized excellence for local chambers of commerce across the state, 2021 marks the first year that our two highest awards have gone home with the same organization.” The Chamber also took home an Innovation in Excellence award for their Lovin’ Local social media campaign.
