Project Assistant
The Knox County Chamber of Commerce, a membership-driven nonprofit organization comprised of businesses, nonprofit organizations, and communities throughout Knox County, is seeking a motivated and creative Project Assistant. The mission of the Knox County Chamber is to promote business development and support members’ interests by creating a proactive and positive business environment.
This part-time position supports the overall operations of the Chamber, working closely with the President/CEO to ensure that daily functions, events, and communications run smoothly. The Project Assistant will help with office administration, member support, social media, marketing, and events. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and creative, with an eye for detail and a passion for supporting business and community growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Administration
- Assist with daily office operations such as phones, mail, supplies, and database updates.
- Provide customer service and support to Chamber members.
- Maintain the Chamber calendar and assist with event RSVPs.
Event Support
- Help plan and execute Chamber events, including registration, logistics, and on-site support.
- Provide creative input for event promotions and member engagement activities.
Social Media & Marketing
- Assist in creating content and graphics using Canva or similar tools to promote Chamber initiatives, events, and member highlights.
Financial/Administrative Support
- Assist with membership invoicing and dues processing.
- Support basic bookkeeping tasks such as coding and inputting payments.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the President/CEO.
Position Qualifications and Competencies
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic knowledge of Canva and social media platforms.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Works well independently and in a team environment.
Hours and Compensation
This is a part-time position that may occasionally require evening or weekend hours for Chamber events. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
