Early Childhood Teaching Assistant

Flaget is seeking teaching assistants for Pre-K and Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year.  These assistants support the classroom teacher in providing a nurturing, faith-filled learning environment for young children. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising students, preparing materials, and helping maintain a safe, organized, and engaging space. The assistants work with small groups and individual students to reinforce academic and social skills, models Christian values, and supports the spiritual development of students through prayer and participation in school faith life. Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with young children are essential.

Qualifications (No College Degree Required):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with young children (childcare, babysitting, volunteering, etc.) preferred
• Demonstrates patience, kindness, and a genuine love for working with children
• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication and basic organizational skills
• Willingness to support and model Catholic values and participate in the faith life of the school
• Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
• Must pass required background check and any diocesan safe environment training
