Position: Marketing and Events Manager

 

Reports to:

Knox County Chamber of Commerce President

 

Job Description and Scope of Work: 

The Marketing and Events Manager is an individual with excellent leadership and organizational skills that provides creative communications and marketing expertise, while coordinating a wide range of programs, activities, and events.  They have a strong interest in Knox County and helping local businesses thrive.  This position reports directly to the KCCC President. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in event planning, research, and community development 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Canva, social media platforms, Google applications, and CRM software programs

  • Excellent written, grammatical, and oral communication skills 

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective public speaking skills

  • Must be flexible regarding job responsibilities 

 

Duties of the Marketing and Events Manager

  • Assist in Chamber projects, programs, and services 

  • Work with the KCCC President to execute Chamber Events

  • Assist with office administration duties

  • Effectively interact with the Chamber staff, boards, community leaders, elected officials, existing businesses, chamber members, and volunteers that are essential in carrying out the mission of the Knox County Chamber

  • Assist with the development of Chamber publications and marketing efforts

  • Represent the Chamber at community events when needed

  • Respond to inquiries made in-person or via telephone, mail, fax or e-mail in a friendly, informative manner

  • Maintain computerized membership records and financial records; including the receipt of contributions and membership dues and process them according to designated procedures 

  • Manage daily administrative operations of the Chamber office, including working with the President to establish work priorities 

  • Monitor and update Chamber web site

  • Monitor, manage, and update all social media platforms

  • Prepare and facilitate the distribution of promotional materials, including bulk and other mailings. 

  • Other duties as assigned by the KCCC President
